About SCYLA

Who We Are

The mission of the Smith County Young Lawyers Association (SCYLA) is to provide an outlet for attorneys that are relatively new to the practice of law to begin a lifetime of community service and professional development. Membership in SCYLA is open to attorneys aged 35 and younger and/or attorneys who have been licensed for under 5 years (as of July 1).

Members of SCYLA work with area agencies on Smith County’s National Adoption Day festivities. They often work alongside the Smith County Bar Foundation on community outreach projects and invite all members of the legal community to join their efforts through the “Forever Young” section of the Smith County Bar Association.
